2013 Yunnan International Training Programme on Agricultural Technique

The India China Alliance for Cooperation facilitated the participation of senior government officials, in an international training programme on agricultural techniques, organised by the Yunnan Society for China-India Cooperation and Exchange from July 28th to August 11th, 2013. The fortnight-long programme covered lectures on techniques of crops and flowers cultivation and management of cultivation, theories, approaches and experiences.

The ‘2013 Yunnan International Training Programme on Agricultural Techniques’ course was spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology of Yunnan Province, P.R. China.

The programme, apart from providing rich knowledge on agri and floriculture, was a major step forward in promoting the cooperation and communication in agricultural science and technology between Yunnan Province of China and nations which were partnering and learning from them.

Yunnan province, where the demonstrational site of Dendrobium lies has made many other breakthroughs in the area of agriculture and floriculture. It has benefitted through its sustainable management of crops (rice, upland rice and vegetable), flowers(mainly focus on Dendrobium) and has developed innovative methods to promote and strengthen the export/import of agricultural products.

The study tour covered different aspects of crop and flower production. The diploma programme comprised lecture sessions, interactions and field visits. Participants represented Southeast and South Asia countries and came from a background of research, administration and education in the fields of crops and flowers.
